Darting Basics - 3 Dart Outs

.

There are two key parts to being successful in an "01" game; skill and knowledge. Skill comes form practice and honing your craft to the point of excellence and being able to hit just about any number on the board at will.

More importantly, and the part that's often overlooked when it comes to successful dart playing, is the aspect of knowledge- knowing what numbers to hit, when to hit them and how to use the least amount of darts as possible in order to get to an out and eventually win the game.

Use the chart below to familiarize yourself with some of the more common outs. Note: These outs are just common recommendations. They are not the definitive answer.

FYI...
Most seasoned darts fans can follow the game as professionals and regular pub and club players work their way around the board. We all think we know exactly where the pro or our opponent is about to go ... and then he or she finds another way to check out, fooling the onlookers or even the busy camera operator. There are plenty of ways of getting to the double you need but most are fairly standard. We have listed some of the most common ways to finish a game with three and two darts. This does not mean you have to follow the chart - that would take the excitement out of a game which is gaining global popularity!

Besides this chart, I highly recommend reading and printing out this article for a more in-depth look at outs that may or may not seem as obvious as the outs in this chart.
