- The end of the 2000 - 2001 season culminated
with a celebratory night of awards, a hot and cold buffet,
free beer, prizes, give-a-ways and a Luck of the Draw tournament.
As part of the one time $45 player fee, all league
players were entitled to a free hot and cold buffet and
all the beer and soda they can drink for free. There is
a fee to enter the Luck of the Draw for both league and
non-league players. The food and drink was served first and
then the individual cash prizes were awarded to the top
15 players for both the A and B divisions. (There
are currently A,B and C divsions and cash prizes awarded
to the top 10 players).
Next, the prizes were awarded to the top four teams in each
division. The first place team was called last and presented
with the league trophy that they hold onto for the entire
year until next year's awards night.
Finally, the Luck of the Draw began. Any non-league
players were welcome to join in the festivites, but it would
have cost them $20. The $20 entitled all non-league players
to the hot and cold buffet and all the free beer and soda
they can drink. From approximately 80 players, the finalists
were widdled down to the final 8. Eventually, there was
one winning team and the top 8 players received a cash prize.
It was a fun-filled, rewarding night for all. The season
was officially over, but the 2002 - 2003 season was just
around the corner.
